Best Gaming Headsets of 2026
I've tested more headsets than my ears would like to admit. Some cost $300 and sounded hollow. Others were $50 and punched way above their weight. Here's the ones that actually made the cut.
TL;DR - Best overall wireless: Apex H1 Wireless (graphene drivers, AI noise-cancel, 60h battery) - Best audiophile: Apex H2 Open-Back (planar magnetic, massive soundstage) - Best budget: Apex H3 Budget ($60, surprisingly good) - Pro bundle: Apex H4 Pro Bundle (H1 + H2 + DAC, save $50)
Apex H1 Wireless โ my daily driver 50mm graphene drivers make a real difference. Footsteps in Valorant sound like they have actual direction โ above, below, left, right. The AI noise-canceling mic is scary good. My keyboard is loud (K1 Pro with linear switches) and my Discord friends said they can't hear it. 60-hour battery means I charge this maybe once every two weeks. I forget it even needs charging.
Apex H2 Open-Back โ when I want immersion This isn't a gaming headset. It's an audiophile headphone that happens to have a detachable mic. Planar magnetic drivers + open-back design = a soundstage so wide you'll hear things in games you never noticed before. Downside: everyone around you hears everything. Not for noisy rooms.
Apex H3 Budget โ the one I tell everyone to get $60. Wired. 220g (super light). Sounds decent. That's it. No RGB, no "gamer" look. I bought one as a backup and ended up using it for a week straight.
Apex H4 Pro Bundle โ for the serious ones You get both H1 and H2 plus a DAC/amp. Use H1 for competitive games, H2 for single-player immersion. It's expensive at $250 but saves you $50 vs buying separately.
Verdict H1 Wireless if you want one headset for everything. H3 Budget if you're saving up. H2 if you're an audio snob like me.
